CONSEJO ASESOR JUVENIL

Misión

La Junta Asesora Juvenil de Teen Connect (YAB) es un grupo de estudiantes de secundaria del condado de Hillsborough que tiene como objetivo hacer que los servicios de salud sean más accesibles para los adolescentes a través de una campaña de marketing en línea, un blog de salud sexual y la promoción de recursos amigables para los jóvenes en el área de la Bahía de Tampa.

¿Qué hace el YAB?

Crea campañas de marketing social lideradas por jóvenes
Sigue, interactúa y desarrolla publicaciones en nuestra cuenta de Instagram @teenconnecttampa
Escriba blogs cortos y contenido de redes sociales amigable para los jóvenes para iniciar conversaciones y conectar a los jóvenes con información y servicios de salud importantes
Participe en las discusiones del equipo de YAB - ¡una excelente manera de hacer que su voz sea escuchada!

Estamos buscando estudiantes de secundaria para aplicar a nuestro YAB. Cualquier persona en las Escuelas Públicas del Condado de Hillsborough puede postularse, pero alentamos a aquellos que representan la diversidad geográfica y étnica del área de la Bahía de Tampa, y que se preocupan por tener un impacto y difundir la conciencia sobre los servicios de salud sexual. Construiremos un equipo que sea inclusivo y respetuoso de toda la gama de orientaciones sexuales e identidades de género. ¡Todos son bienvenidos!

Julia, Social Media Graphic Designer I joined the YAB because I want to help remove the stigma surrounding sexual health.	Jeremiah, Blog Manager I joined the YAB because I want to further my knowledge about sexual health. Not only do I want to learn, but I also want to be able to teach and help others.	Thanh, Artist I joined the YAB because I want to make an impact on my community. Teaching teens about sexual health not only helps them to protect themselves, but also helps them protect their partners and those in their community.
Kyra, Operations/Outreach I joined the YAB because I want to learn more about sexual health and make sexual health resources more available for teens.	Gileah, Content Designer I joined the YAB because I want to help spread sexual health awareness and share the knowledge I gain with those in and beyond my community.	Ellie, Secretary I joined the YAB because I want to make people's lives better and help my community. It's important to educate young people about sexual health so our generation can be safe.
Tatiana, Team Lead I joined the YAB because I want to normalize the topic of sexual health!	Alyssa, Operations/Outreach I joined the YAB because I want to be an OB/GYN and one way I can start my journey to become one is to spread information on sexual health and why it's important.	Ashley, Operations/Outreach I joined the YAB because I wanted to learn more about sexual health and spread information and resources to teens that don't have access to it.
Ella, Blog & Outreach I joined YAB because I wanted to be a part of spreading sexual health awareness. I also want to be a good resource for my friends or be able to direct them to the right resource if they confide in me. Jazmine, Graphic Designer I joined the YAB because I realized how many people didn’t know about resources around them and I wanted to help everyone understand their own sexual health. (Former member)	Savannah, Blog Manager I joined YAB because I did a research project on access to birth control that made me really passionate about making sure teens have the ability to access proper contraceptives and education on safe sex. (Former member/graduate)	Meesha, Social Media I joined the YAB because I've seen some misconceptions many people my age have about their bodies and wanted to take an active role in helping to educate them. (Former member/graduate)
Maya, Content Designer I joined the YAB to educate my community because I saw the effect misinformation was having on my peers. I wanted to join in the effort to normalize sex and to increase awareness about various sex and sexuality related issues in our world. I've learned the importance of sexual health and how it connects to the media, and I've gotten to work with a great group of people! Kiara, Operations/Outreach As teenagers with no real sex education curriculum, it’s hard to find reliable resources that are confidential and accessible. It’s a great feeling to know we’re spreading the word about them. Working together with the team has taught me a lot about leadership, marketing, and most importantly, sexual health.
