The Head Start program is available for children from low-income families between up to 5 years old, including those with special needs. Early Head Start is for children up to 3 years old; Head Start is for children 3-5 years old.

Sunshine Health offers a specialized Healthy Teen Pregnancy Program under the Child Welfare Specialty Plan.

The plan offers specialized care management, member education and collaboration with statewide partner organizations to support pregnant teens.

The program teaches young women how to best care for themselves while pregnant, and care for their babies after birth.

Expanded benefits include access to a doula, breast pump rental, and expanded over-the-counter (OTC) benefits to cover baby care items.

Voluntary program designed to meet the needs of expectant youth and teen parents.

Students have the option to participate in the program by choosing to go the Traditional School route or attend at a Parent Teen Center.

Teens are supported in graduating from high school and becoming knowledgeable and nurturing parents.

Each teen is assigned a case manager to make monthly home visits to ensure adequate resources for parent and baby including access to health care, and additional information or assistance if needed.

Ongoing engagement activities include training comprised of impactful group retreats, monthly group workshops, and varied mentorship experiences.

YoungLives is a regular gathering for pregnant and parenting teenagers ages 14-20, and their mentors. Several teams come together to create an amazing community for teen moms to share a meal, gain support, enhance life skills, create mental wellness, encouragement, laughter, adventure and childcare.
